Your Style or Their Style?
As an artist there are so many styles of artwork that I absolutely love and when I began building a portfolio, I thought I would love to pursue so many different directions in art and pattern design. Watercolor, detailed florals? Line drawn, precise and textured? Bold, modern florals?
But when I accepted that all my favorite styles to enjoy are not all MY style to create, it opened up a feeling of freedom in my process. I can appreciate and admire other styles but still narrow my focus specifically on the work that resonates best with my own style.
This is one thought pattern shift I have made that has made a big difference in the way I approach my work.
This got me thinking about other thought patterns I’ve learned about, so I’ve put together a mini challenge for you! (I promise it won’t require a huge time investment!) Five days of small shifts you can make in your thought patterns as an artist.
