The process of seeing a vision unfold is an incredible experience.

When I worked as an Interior Designer, I experienced this in seeing physical spaces built out from blueprints – large plans with all the details drawn and detailed. When I left that job, I found that this was the part I missed most.

I spent years learning and earning an Interior Design degree and then five years of work professionally. When I left to stay home with my kids, I found myself wondering during the occasional quiet moment, how I could be creative again. I tried and gave up on several ideas that didn’t turn out to be a good fit for the season we were in.

And then I found Surface Design.

Now, it is the process of seeing a simple painting or design develop into a pattern and then forming part of a larger collection and supporting story. I found connection in the story shared through the art.
